On behalf of 56 International, we are pleased to welcome you all to the event of your dreams 56 International - Silver Jubilee Tournament, 2024. More than a game or tournament, this is a “Friends Get Together ". 56 International started in 1999 in Detroit with the support of friends from Detroit, Chicago and Canada. Now, players from New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Florida, St. Louis, Washington DC, Boston, Virginia, Maryland, Atlanta, North Carolina, California, Dubai, Germany and Kuwait are participating in the tournament. The tournament that started with 16 teams 25 years ago, have grown to become a true international tournament with over 75 teams participating today.

This is one of a group of South Asian trick-taking games in which the Jack and the Nine are the highest cards in every suit. It is almost certain that they are related to the European family of Jass games, which originated in the Netherlands. 56 (Ambathiyaaru) is popular in the southern province of Kerala, India. It is an expanded form of the simpler game 28, played with a double pack.
