On behalf of 56 International, we are pleased to welcome you all to the event of your dreams 56 International. More than a game or tournament, this is a “Friends Get Together ". Your support, cooperation, mutual respects and understanding is the success of this event. 56 International started in 1999 at Detroit with the support of friends from Detroit, Chicago, Canada, and Indiana. Now players from New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Florida, St. Louis, Washington DC, Boston, Virginia, Maryland, Atlanta, North Carolina, California and Kuwait are participating in the tournament. First year we stated with sixteen teams and now more than 70+ teams.

This is one of a group of South Asian trick-taking games in which the Jack and the Nine are the highest cards in every suit. It is almost certain that they are related to the European family of Jass games, which originated in the Netherlands. 56 (Ambathiyaaru) is popular in the southern province of Kerala, India. It is an expanded form of the simpler game 28, played with a double pack.
